As websites have evolved from a static "yellow page" format to highly interactive sources of services and information, the processes for developing, using, and maintaining websites have become much more complicated.  Design must mirror the busiiness environment as it also should build on active business information--directly.  Organizations do not have time to create web information as adjuncts to their real business information.  There should be processes to extract real-time information from the business environment for the web.  As websites have become more important and complex, maintenance is embedded within daily operations.
